IIRA Rural Survey
2013 Illinois Rural Life Poll
The IIRA periodically surveys rural Illinois residents to gauge their opinions on quality of life issues. Survey results are shared with elected officials, government agencies, community leaders, the Governor’s Rural Affairs Council (chaired by the Lt. Governor) and other rural stakeholders. The most recent Illinois Rural Life Poll was sent to 12,300 residents between September and December 2013. Surveys were received from 1,466 respondents for an 11.9% response rate. Results showed widespread concern for rural social, economic, and environmental issues. Rural Partners provided financial support for this initiative. The results were presented at the 2014 Rural Development Conference in Peoria. The PowerPoint for the presentation is available on the link below.
